Prepare a pallet enquiry for an export shipment
An export pallet request needs a destination and a compliance conversation, not just a footprint and a treatment-code guess.
Include the actual journey
Describe origin, destination, transit countries, cargo dimensions, weight distribution and planned handling. Ask the freight professional which packaging requirements apply to that journey.
Ask about documentation and marks
APHIS recommends sourcing properly marked compliant wood packaging and consulting the relevant accredited inspection channels. Request the evidence from the supplier instead of treating a marketplace description as certification.
Keep reuse restrictions visible
A pallet’s earlier international journey does not settle every future use. Repairs, missing components, treatment-mark condition and destination requirements can affect the decision. Verify them before dispatch.
Keep these details together
- Journey and destination
- Cargo and handling details
- Supplier evidence
- Mark and condition review
